Who we work with

We work with a wide range of clients - individuals, families, people approaching retirement, people who’ve already retired, trustees and business owners.

Take a look at the following case studies of some of the people we have helped, including someone who wanted to pay off his mortgage, someone who wanted to know whether to transfer their DB scheme and someone who wanted to set up their own business.

They all shared one common goal - to be sure they were getting the most from their finances so that they could look to the future in confidence.

Mrs P - setting up a new business

Mrs P was 54, married with three grown up children. She was working as a classroom assistant but was thinking of resigning and setting up her own business. As she didn’t want to take out a loan from the bank, she was looking at renting some premises she could trade from.

Mr K - DB scheme

Mr K was 63, divorced and had three grown up children. He had worked in the media industry for twenty years and was an active member of a defined benefits (DB) scheme. He also had £165,000 in an ISA. Mr K came to us as he was keen to explore what retirement options were available to him.

Mr C - paying off my mortgage

Mr C was aged 59 when he approached us and was married with a sixteen year old daughter. He was an accountant and had been working as a Financial Director for a major company, although had been off work for several months through ill health.

Ms J - DB scheme

Ms J was single and in her late fifties. She had a twenty-three year old son living at home with her. She worked as a Business Manager for a large PLC she was an active member in the company’s DB scheme but also had another deferred DB Scheme with a local authority.

Mr & Mrs N - taking retirement

Mr and Mrs N were in their late fifties, with grown up children. Mr N had recently been made redundant and retired early. Mrs N was also considering early retirement. The couple had £50k in cash in the bank, Mr N had four defined contributions (DC) pensions and Mrs N had one defined benefits (DB) pension.

"Simon took on board my situation and delivered exactly what I expected."

November 2018

"Initially Simon RIchards provided me with easily comprehensible information on my options for investment while making it clear that the choices were mine. He also explained the costs of the service which I feel are very fair and for me totally of value. With great patience he sorted out the chaos that was my starting point with him. The ongoing support and information provision has been excellent."

November 2018

"Gave me advice, helped me understand in plain English , was very helpful, very professional and calm."
